Lyrics

feel the music deeply, it keeps me in the zone
instrumentals banging, heavy in my headphones
been alone & left alone them are two different songs
not a manmade structure, my family is home
still gotta jones for rhyming jotting late night
9 to 5 in the daylight making sure life’s right
hindsight's 20/20 times 5 for me
two hundred, i don’t see things perfectly
the sense of urgency that i feel everyday
revolves around them boys i am blessed to raise
stay out the cage, physically & mentally
behind bars, i don’t want nobody to seeing me
i’m free, full of love & hurt
made much progress & i still need work
much like the church, riddled with imperfections
if i let god & let god, i can be a blessing, lessons

lessons
we learn them as we grow
lessons
begin before one years old
lessons
we’ve all been taught & told
lessons
learned by the young & old

i’m grown & i ain’t feeling being alone
can’t nothing match being with my family at home
hit the road nah, not for no two month stretch
long distance away from my security net
younger me would of left, i thought that was everything
a long time ago before i wore this wedding ring
she said yes, i said selfishness must die
unbeknownst to me, in other ways it would rise
i look in her eyes & she mirror me back
letting me see every area my character lack
i’ll trade nothing for that, she is my rib
in ten years, she blessed me with two beautiful kids
life is, a little different music plays a part
god ain’t take it, he repurposed it in my heart
there’s an art, to me being a father that raps
that’s me being present where my families at

lessons
we learn them as we grow
lessons
begin before one years old
lessons
we’ve all been taught & told
lessons
learned by the young & old

lessons, lessons
lessons we all learn
lessons, lessons
lessons we all learn
